Projects
Here are some of the projects that we have accomplished over the years.
Annual Culture Camp
Every summer our staff along with the community come together for a week out at our 10-Mile Camp. While at camp we focus on teaching our youth and younger generation the culture along with other teachings; moose hunting, language, singing, fishing, traditional crafts, preparing and putting away traditional foods, gun safety, carpentry and more.
Wellness Gatherings
We have held three Community Wellness Gatherings (2024-2025), which took place here at our community hall. Individuals from neighboring communities were invited to join in on native crafts, traditional healing, acupuncture, moose hide tanning, salve making, Athabaskan language, salve and oil making, and listening to presenters speak on topics such as; Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Prevention, Self-Care and more.
2013/2014 Recycling
In 2012 Northway received an IGAP grant to begin a cleanup/recycle project on Native lands. The following information shows the results of two years’ worth the effort and much support from the community members.
